BEN DOWNEY*, South Asian Peoples International Mission Board
*Name changed for security
| Ben Downey*, a Southern Baptist representative, ministers along with his family in South Asia among a people group they have dubbed the Farmers. The Farmers enjoy the position as a high-caste people group and tend to be faithful Hindus. One couple, though, has chosen to follow Jesus and share its faith with others. The husband knows that by forsaking their Hindu religion, they also risk losing their status in society. Their children may have trouble finding spouses, and business may suffer. "This young couple is taking a leadership role and is able to give key strategy insights that we are ignorant of as cultural outsiders," Downey explains. Pray for God to continually grant favor and wisdom to this Christian Asian couple as they develop ways to share Christ with their unreached people group.
